Therme Dallas is pursuing additional approvals from city officials to enhance its ambitious $800 million wellness resort planned for 1500 South Riverfront Boulevard. The expansion of the project scope includes a new pedestrian skybridge designed to link two of the resort's primary structures, along with additional non-residential zones that will diversify the mixed-use development's offerings. This represents a strategic refinement to the Austrian company's vision for transforming Dallas's riverfront district.
The sprawling 24-acre, 500,000-square-foot resort will feature an extensive array of leisure and hospitality amenities including thermal baths, saunas, swim-up bars, restaurants, and retail spaces—all set within an indoor beach-like environment topped with a retractable glass roof. According to The Real Deal, the development is slated to break ground in 2027, positioning it as a significant anchor project for Dallas's hospitality and tourism sector. The resort promises to differentiate Dallas's experiential leisure market by introducing European wellness concepts to North Texas.
Therme's Dallas expansion underscores the city's growing appeal as a destination for major entertainment and resort development. The company's commitment to the project, which has garnered both investor confidence and regulatory scrutiny, reflects broader real estate trends favoring mixed-use, amenity-rich developments in urban waterfront locations. As the project moves through the approval process, it could catalyze additional investment and development activity along the Trinity River corridor.
